About EEGAR & AMIS
In 2024, researchers from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Krakow University of Economics, and Prague University of Economics and Business created the informal EEGAR (Eastern European Group for Accounting Research) network, aimed at supporting accounting research in this region. EEGAR will also be used as a platform to organize a rotating annual conference in the three universities.
EEGAR thus seeks to leverage the unique economic, regulatory, and cultural contexts of this vibrant region, which offer rich and under-explored research opportunities that can be of great interest to the global research community. EEGAR also aims at providing a foundation for the development of young researchers and the establishment of mentoring programs to ensure that research emerging from Central and Eastern Europe can effectively inform the broader academic discourse.
By fostering academic collaboration and knowledge sharing, EEGAR's mission is to strengthen the position of Central and Eastern European institutions within the global research community and enhance their contributions to the evolving field of accounting.
